The Fisheries Industry Development and Support Services Division (FIDSSD) of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Central Office (BFAR-CO) is urgently in need of the following:

Technical Support Staff

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Fisheries and other allied courses
  • With PRC license (Fisheries Technologist) or Career Service Eligibility
  • With an aptitude for fish species identification, fisheries extension, entrepreneurship, community organizing and strategic planning
  • With excellent analytical , oral written communication skills
  • Excellent skills in MS office applications particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Job description

  • Assist fishery-based MSMEs on product promotion and market development through conduct of trainings/ mentorship program, participation to international and local trade fairs/ exhibits, and industry/ investment fora
  • Analyze price trend data of fishery commodities and generate Price Monitoring Reports
  • Facilitate credit access of fisherfolk to financing institutions (government and private)
  • Engage with local and international organizations (e.g., FAO, INFOFISH, USAID) on various trade and marketing programs for fisheries stakeholders
  • Assist in fisheries community/ cooperative organizing

Graphic Designer

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, design, advertising, communications, or any related field
  • With Career Service Eligibility (Professional)
  • Excellent skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, and other graphic design software
  • Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent eye for detail Preferably with experience in graphic design

Job description

  • Create and design various IEC materials for print and digital collateral related to fisheries marketing programs of the Bureau Design and layout the Philippine (BFAR) pavilion in local and international exhibitions
  • Work with a wide range of media and use of graphic design software
  • Write, proofread, and edit creative content across different medium
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the immediate supervisor/ Division Chief

Communications Development Officer

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in development communications, communication, journalism, development studies or related courses
  • With Career Service Eligibility (Professional)
  • Critical thinker, with the ability to adapt and deliver results in a dynamic environment
  • Strong writing and editing skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter and self-motivated, and comfortable leading and/ or working with a team
  • Excellent skills in MS Office Applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Job description

  • Conduct market research; review, analyze and prepare reports, infographics, and presentation materials relevant to fisheries trade and marketing
  • Prepare internal and external communications
  • Plan and organize training, seminars, forums, meetings, and other marketing events
  • Coordinate with various government agencies, non- government organizations, academe, and other private sectors in fisheries
  • Assist in fisheries community/ cooperative organizing
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the immediate supervisor/ Division Chief
