The Covid-19 pandemic is one of the most challenging crisis we experienced. With the increasing number of people affected, our health care system is barely surviving.
Adding insult to injury, our front liners are also suffering because of lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The people are in distress because they have no food to serve in the table due to the enhanced community quarantine which forces them to stay at home and leave their jobs.
Fortunately, our government never stop helping people. As well as those private sectors who always aid our government and the people to alleviate their suffering.
One of the good samaritans who always think of the welfare of the people is the Mayor of Manila. He makes sure that he is giving them their rights. Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso on Saturday, April 4, 2020, posted on his Official Facebook Page that the elected officials in the city of Manila will donate their whole salary in the month of April to Philippine General Hospital.
Amongst those who will donate are Mayor Isko, Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, Majority floor leader Joel Chua, and all the City Councilors. The amount they are expecting to collect is about 4 million pesos.
Mayor Isko told that the money even small could be of great help especially to the frontliners of the PGH. It is such a big help to our frontliners who are ready to risk their lives saving people.
We hope there will be more good samaritans who will be more than willing to help to fight this crisis we are in. Instead of complaining and bashing people, we can all contribute with our own little way by obeying the government and by staying at home.
No one wants to happen this. We can surely get over it if we will cooperate and unite as one.
