What is the Swift Code?
Swift Code is commonly known as BIC or Bank Identifier Code. SWIFT is an acronym for Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication. Contrary to bank code, swift code composed of 8 or 11 characters of numbers and letters.
Swift code is often needed when you want to send or receive money abroad. Particularly when you want to send money to your friend in another country, you have to ask for the swift code of her bank. On the other hand, if you are to receive money overseas, you need to give your bank’s swift code.
